We have collaborated with the South African Renewable Energy Technology Centre (SARETEC) to host 20 high schools to make this initiative accessible to the surrounding schools in Cape Town. The EnergyDRIVE demonstration will be presented on Monday 6th August from 09:00am to 13:00pm.
The programme for the day will include:
- Two-hour Demonstration of the EnergyDRIVE truck
- Two groups of grades 12 learners (The first group of 100 learners will attend the 1st session, the second group of 100 learners will attend the last session).
- Learners will receive activity books as gift from the WINDtrip team
SAWEA has invited 200 Matric learners to visit the SARETEC, at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Bellville. These pupils are Grade 11 or 12 learners who are currently achieving excellent results and improved performance in Maths and Science. We believe that this is a great educational initiative as we aim to promote the importance of Mathematics and Science as well as raising awareness about climate change and Renewable Energy. In doing so we are able to provide knowledge and issues related to climate change on the benefits and uses of renewable energy technologies to the broader public and smaller communities exposing learners to bursary opportunities offered by the CSIR.
